The legendary director of Kannada cinema with over 50 years of service to the industry making some of the finest films does not agree with the tag of ‘Bhishma’ for him. It was recently addressed at SIFCC function.

I am not ‘Bhishma’. I am Drona. A lot of youngsters came up and I am even today a teacher in an institute he mentioned.

SK Bhagwan was speaking at Vamshoddaraka audio release. On the dais in a series – Rathasapthami Aravind, director Chikkanna, Srimurali, Puneeth Rajakumar, Meghanaraj, Vijaya Raghavendra, Chinne Gowdru, V Manohar and actress of the film Lakshmi are connected in the beginning of their career and life in the early days for that SK Bhagwan is mentor.

SK Bhagwan remembered all the names and incidents because Sri Murali in his address said how he was given support to reach Mumbai for acting course by Bhagwan Uncle.

So it was gate way for future career. I would put it as ‘Drona not Bhismha’ said the stalwart director SK Bhagwan.
